Charles Boyu School, Liberia

A school built by UNICEF for the Government of Liberia as a signal to change in a post-conflict border region.

The first first-grade children enrolled in this school were the first of their generation to not know war.

Built on donated land close to the border of Guinea, this pilot project aimed to better connect the broder regions with the centres of power with educational interventions.

It is a 10 classroom school, equipped with Library, computer lab, and solar power. The solar power installed on this project led to uptake of solar power on government projects throughout Liberia.
